SAUSALITO, Calif., June 2, 1998 -- Coactive Networks today announced the addition of Janice Roberts to the Board of Directors. Roberts is senior vice president of global marketing and business development for 3Com Corporation, a position she has held since September, 1992. Prior to her present position, Roberts was vice president and general manager for 3Coms hub division in the United Kingdom. Roberts joined 3Com during the companys acquisition of BICC plcs Data Networking Businesses in January 1992. Janice has exceptional insight into the networking market; we are honored to have an individual of her caliber on Coactive's board, said David Gaw, President of Coactive Networks. Her international experience in networked systems across a range of markets will be extremely valuable as Coactive grows to meet the demand for control network connectivity. Roberts was previously president of BICC Communications, Inc. and managing director of BICCs Data Networking businesses worldwide, a leading international design and manufacturer of high performance data networking products. With headquarters in Hemel Hempstead, U.K., and Westborough, Mass., U.S., BICC Communications was a member of the BICC Group plc, a $7.5 billion international engineering corporation. Roberts joined BICC plc in 1989 as director of marketing for its BICC Technologies Group. As BICC Communications president, Roberts managed the groups commercial, development and manufacturing activities worldwide. This included subsidiaries in the U.K., mainland Europe, North America, Australia and Asia. Previously, she held a number of senior international marketing, sales and business development positions in engineering, electronics and communications-based companies. Roberts moved to BICC from STC plc, the European-based computing and communications group. She holds an honors degree in economics and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing.
